As part of the SFB 1483 EmpkinS and its interdisciplinary team of engineers, physicians, ethicists, sports scientists and psychologists, Hannah Bleher is investigating the ethics and societal implications of AI-based technologies for healthcare.
Zia Fellow
In 2023, Hannah Bleher received the Zia Fellowship "Visible Women in Science" from the ZEIT publishing house. This fellowship is awarded annually by a jury of 25 experts from various research disciplines.

Get to know Hannah
Hannah Bleher is a research associate at the Department of Social Ethics and currently a ministry trainee in the Evangelical Church of Württemberg. Previously, she was a researcher and lecturer at the University of Bonn and the FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
She studied Protestant theology in Neuendettelsau, Erlangen, Stellenbosch (South Africa) and Tübingen. From 2012 to 2018 she was a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Evangelische Stift Tübingen. In 2023 she was awarded the Zia Fellowship "Visible Women in Science" by the ZEIT publishing house.
Her interdisciplinary research focuses on the ethics and governance of artificial intelligence. From 2020 to 2024 she was a researcher in the interdisciplinary project "SMART Start: Smart Sensors in Pregnancy Care", funded by the German Federal Ministry of Health. Since 2021, she is a research associate at SFB 1483 EmpkinS, a Collaborative Research Center funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
In her doctoral thesis, Hannah Bleher explores concepts and theories of compromise from a theological-ethical and political-theoretical perspective.
