"Diegesis in Mind" aims to encourage and support the use of cognitive ("mind") science to study ancient narrative ("diegesis"). It is intended to be an intellectual nucleus for continuing scholarly dialogue about methods, standards, prospects, and limitations of using cognitive disciplines to study ancient narrative texts and other media across disciplines.
The research project of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jan Rüggemeier and Dr. Elizabeth Shively is funded in equal parts by the British Academy and digitization funds of the University of Bonn.
To kick off the new collaboration, a live event will be held in St Andrews with cognitive scientist Mark Turner (Western Reserve University). For those who cannot be on site in St Andrews, there will be a livestreaming offer on the web portal (www.diegesis-in-mind.com). Details can be found in the PDF file.
