Paul M. Joyce is Samuel Davidson Professor of Old Testament / Hebrew Bible at King’s College London. His previous posts were at the University of Birmingham and the University of Oxford, where he was involved in the long-standing Bonn-Oxford seminar series.
His research has focused primarily on the books of Ezekiel and Lamentations. Key publications include Ezekiel: A Commentary (New York and London: T&T Clark / Continuum, 2007), and, with Diana Lipton, Lamentations through the Centuries (Chichester: Wiley-Blackwell, 2013). He is currently engaged in writing a commentary on Amos for the Illuminations series (Eerdmans). Other interests on which he has published include methodology in biblical studies and also the interface with Psychology.
He served as Chair of the Oxford Theology Faculty Board 2008 - 2011 and as Head of Department at King’s College London 2013 - 2017. He was President of the Society for Old Testament Study for its centennial year of 2017.
